When scientists first concocted the little blue pill more than 20 years ago, it was as a treatment for the heart condition angina.

The idea was that it would ease pain by dilating blood vessels around the heart.

The results were disappointing, until doctors noticed an extraordinary side-effect among male volunteers.

"Researchers knew they were on to something when patients refused to give the drugs back at the end of the trial," says Dr Mike Kirby, adviser to the Sexual Dysfunction Association.

Viagra generates sales of more than £1 billion a year and, as well as providing effective treatment for erectile dysfunction, is attracting interest as a potential remedy for a range of other illnesses from deadly lung disorders to cold hands.

The secret of Viagra, and other drugs in the same class, is that they allow blood to flow more freely by helping arteries to relax. They do this by blocking the effects of an enzyme called phosphodiesterase.

Evidence suggests it could even be used to combat jet lag.

Below, we examine other ways the modern day wonder-drug could help repair the damaged body. In most cases, research is still at an early stage and the drug is not yet being widely used. In others, such as the deadly lung disease pulmonary arterial hypertension, a form of the drug is already being used to save lives in Britain.

HEART ATTACKS

Giving Viagra after a heart attack could repair damaged muscle by restoring oxygen supplies. Researchers at Virginia Commonwealth University in the U.S. compared the antiimpotence drug with nitroglycerin, the standard treatment given to heart attack victims, and found Viagra was better at restoring bloodflow and helping tissue heal.

BREAST CANCER

Breast and colon tumours in mice shrank threefold when they were injected with the drug in experiments at Johns Hopkins University in the U.S. Scientists believe Viagra works by 'unmasking' cancer cells, so the immune system can recognise them as foreign and destroy them.

COLD HANDS

Raynaud's disease affects up to one in five people and is caused when blood supply to fingers and toes is interrupted. Most of the time they appear cold, white and look dead, but exposure to cold can trigger a burning sensation. Patients given 50mg of Viagra twice a day, for four weeks, had fewer and much shorter 'burning' attacks due to better bloodflow.

CROHN'S DISEASE

British researchers claim the sex pill could fight Crohn's disease, a debilitating condition, which often needs major surgery on the bowel. Tests at University College London showed the drug boosts bloodflow around the small intestine - the area most affected by the disease - and helps fight bacteria..

INFERTILITY

A woman's chances of becoming pregnant could improve, according to scientists. In some women, the lining of the uterus is too thin to sustain a pregnancy. The drug increases bloodflow to the uterus and stimulates growth of cells.

DIABETES

Three out of four diabetics suffer gastroparesis - when the stomach empties too slowly. It causes loss of appetite and dehydration. U.S. scientists found Viagra helped by relaxing stomach muscles.

PELVIC PAIN

Up to 50 per cent of men suffer pelvic pain, causing discomfort around the lower back and groin.

Viagra appears to help by dilating blood vessels in the pelvic area and boosting bloodflow, according to a trial at Washington University in the U.S..

STILL BIRTHS

Every year, about 600 babies in the UK are stillborn because of a pregnancy disorder called pre-eclampsia. But foetal deaths dropped sharply in pregnant mice given the Viagra. In pre-eclampsia, arteries feeding the placenta do not widen enough to deliver all the blood the baby needs. Viagra relaxes muscles in the artery walls.

LUNG DISEASE

Nobody knows what causes pulmonary arterial hypertension, a condition that affects about 4,000 people in the UK, often women in their 30s and 40s. But few sufferers survive beyond three to four years. Blood pressure becomes dangerously high in the pulmonary artery. A Viagra-based drug called Revatio is extending the lives of some sufferers by boosting blood flow to the lungs, reducing the workload on the heart.

PROSTATE PROBLEMS

The little blue pill can improve symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia. BPH is part of the natural ageing process and nothing to do with prostate cancer. But it does cause frequent urinating, bladder stones, depression and daytime tiredness due to constant broken sleep. Doctors at Northwestern University in Chicago tested the drug on 300 men - it had a dramatic effect..

Trying to persuade a member of such a community that weight loss is essential, is a losing battle.

* Speed of gratification - modern people are addicted to 'instant fixes'. Whereas our ancestors were patient and prepared to work and wait for result or changes, modern man expects solutions in a wink and many people are not prepared to take time and care to lose weight. I have endless comments from Readers who bewail the fact that they have been on a diet for a week 'and not lost a kg!'. Weight loss takes time and effort, two concepts that are at odds with the modern need for instant gratification.

* Perceived benefits - this value can make any weight loss programme fail, because it is practically impossible to motivate someone to lose weight if they cannot perceive the benefit of doing so. If you are not deeply convinced that losing weight will improve your health and lifestyle, then don't even start a diet, it will be doomed to failure.

* Locus of control - the question of who controls your life is also important. Do you feel that you are in control of your life and all its aspects, or do you feel like a helpless baby torn in different directions by forces beyond your control? If you belong to the latter group, you will also fail when trying to lose weight, because it take control to stick to a diet and an exercise programme.

* Aspirations - these values define your goals. If you are determined to reach your gaol of weight loss then chances are you will get there with flying colours, but if you don't even have any aspirations and just vaguely think you should be doing something about being obese because someone else thinks so, your chances are poor.

Viagra appeared in 1998 and registered a high success generally for the fact that it was the first product of this kind. Nowadays a new successful product was attributed to ICOS Corporation which is to shatter the unbelievable success of Viagra. The series isn't ending here; anyway, as another one called Levitra.

First of all, there should be mentioned that the sell market of Cialis has reached an enormous level which is bound to put aside the success registered by Viagra in the late 90's. What is important is the fact that from around thirty million people suffering from erectile dysfunction in the USA and another estimated number of one hundred and seventy five million abroad who are having this dysfunction and using these products, only a little part are using Viagra.

Like Viagra, an estimated number of eighty percent of the people who have tried Cialis have had the opportunity and chance in the mean time to have an erection as well as sexual acts but in comparison with Viagra, the effects and potential of the user lasted for more than thirty six hours after taking the pill; in this period of time the effects were almost constant. A possible explanation for this is the fact that Cialis persists longer in the body than Viagra does. The period of time for blood levels to fall fifty percent for Viagra records four hours, while Cialis makes it up to seventeen hours. This can signify that a twenty five percent of the original doze of Cialis is still in the body at that time.

To conclude, it may be said that Cialis has finally shattered the’ unbreakable’ myth of Viagra by adding more tough points to the well-known advantages of Viagra. Logically, it is of a higher quality technique than Viagra this being the reason for the extreme surpassing. Let’s hope things will not remain this way and will improve more and more up to perfection.

The liberated world of today discusses sex in forums, on the coffee table, in offices and all places one can think of, except the bedroom. Sex is increasingly become the in vogue topic of the generation X.

With so much of information explosion about this once taboo topic, one would think that the today’s world knows all there is to know about sex. It would be natural to believe that this liberation has led to happy relationships and increased marital satisfaction amidst couples. However, nothing can be further away from the truth. Today, the divorce rates are increasing at an alarming rate. Breakups between couples have become as common as having tea or coffee. Marriages are increasingly becoming a standing joke in the society. Infidelity is taken as casually as changing clothes.

What are the reasons behind the dwindling “till death does us apart relationships”? The reasons are simple. They can be termed as lack of commitment, patience and understanding. Today’s world survives on fast food and quick fixes and so is the case with relationships.

Today people do not invest time in a relationship. The contemporary couple does not have time to understand each others problems and issues. Instead all they want is a quick intercourse and sleep. To increase their sexual satisfaction, they do not look for partner’s satisfaction; instead they use quick fixes like cialis which helps to satisfy them. Though these pills come in cheap but they come with side effects.

Sexual satisfaction cannot be obtained from pills like cialis which are easily available online. This satisfaction can only be achieved by loving your partner’s mind body and soul. As Freud once said – sex is in the mind.

When ED proves to be a pattern or a persistent problem, it can interfere with a man's self-image as well as his and his partner's sexual life.

As men ages, they feel that the obdurate organ is less intense, need more stimulation to get erect, orgasm is not so satisfying than before and ejaculate less, and when these problem persists for a long period, men gets depressed, frustrated, lose their self-esteem and undoubtedly, it ruins the sexual life of their partner. But ED can occur at any age and it is not just a process of aging. It is a medical condition which is treatable and need to be treated on time. Erectile dysfunction may also be a sign of a physical or emotional problem that requires treatment.

In around 95% of the ED cases, a suitable treatment can be found. Men can now opt for oral anti-ED drug as an easiest option. Cialis or tadalafil is one of the successful drugs evolved for the treatment of ED. Cialis is a class of drug called phosphodiesterase inhibitors. It functions by enhancing the effects of nitric oxide, a chemical that relaxes smooth muscles in your penis during sexual stimulation, and allows increased blood flow into the penis thus making it erect.

You are able to get the maximum effect of a single dosage of Cialis up to 24 to 36 hours, several times longer than other anti-ED drugs such as, Viagra and Levitra.

While using Cialis, you may get headache, indigestion, back pain, muscle aches, flushing, and nasal congestion. In rare instances, Cialis can also result a sudden decrease or loss of vision. It is possible that a prolonged and possibly painful erection may occur after taking Cialis. If you have such an erection, which lasts continuously for more than 4 hours, you should contact a doctor immediately.

Cialis is not advisable to men who have suffered a heart attack within the last six months, people with low blood pressure, high blood pressure, severe liver disease, and retinitis pigmentosa.

Finnish researchers surveyed some 1,100 men ages 50 to 70 about their use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which include most over-the-counter pain relievers, such as aspirin, ibuprofen (generic, Advil, Motrin I, and naproxen (generic, Aleve). They also asked how often the men experienced erectile dysfunction, the inability to achieve or maintain an erection.

The men who were taking NSAIDs were nearly twice as likely to have erectile dysfunction as the nonusers. (That figure was statistically adjusted to account for various medical conditions that could distort the results.)

The researchers theorize that NSAIDs may diminish the body's release of nitric oxide, a chemical needed to achieve erections. Erectile-dysfunction drugs such as sildenafil (Viagra), tadalafil (Cialis), and vardenafil (Levitra) work by stimulating nitric-oxide release.

In addition to that side effect, prolonged use of NSAIDs increases certain serious risks: high blood pressure, heart attack, stomach bleeding, and kidney and liver damage. So an alternative drug, acetaminophen (generic, Panadol, Tylenol), is generally the best first choice for mild-to-moderate pain, though it too may harm the liver.

Men who experience erectile problems should consult their physician to rule out an underlying disorder that could be causing the problem, such as cardiovascular disease. If they're taking an NSAID and have no such disorder, they should consider switching to acetaminophen--or asking their physician to prescribe an erection-boosting medication.

Understanding and dealing with the psychology of impotence is undoubtedly quiet a tough job. But there is no doubt that Cialis; the anti-impotence pill that completely reformed the treatment of impotence has had a deep effect on men who have erectile dysfunction. And simply finding a "quick fix" for impotence doesn't overcome other problems that may have been there before treatment began. Often overcoming impotence gives men impractical hope about their ability to instantly cure their emotional problems as well as their physical ones.

Unfortunately it seems that for a large number of men, their ability to get an erection and have sex is viewed as an integral part of their masculinity and potency. Therefore, it's no wonder that the onset of impotence, even when triggered by an underlying physical condition, can produce psychosomatic problems that further impact on the impotence. Many times, the fear of not being able to perform adequately, dissatisfaction with penis size and self-consciousness about body appearance can all lead to the very thing that most men wish to avoid - failure to get an erection. Although, today one can buy cheap Cialis from any virtual or online chemist shop and with the worldwide explosion of technology more and more options of purchasing this wonder drug are being invented everyday.

Therefore when anxiety is mixed up with the knowledge there may have been an occasional episode of impotence in the past, or when erectile dysfunction has been in existence for a period of time, this anxiety is multiplied. It is a common viewpoint that anxiety can effectively prevent a man from becoming aroused and getting and maintaining an erection.

It is quite possible that taking a pill may temporarily overcome the impotence, but relieving the self-doubt and mental stress, which may have been brooding for any number of years, is harder to alleviate. The capacity to recover quality of life by restoring sexual function is viewed by some men as a near miracle and by others with fear and trepidation.

Thus, the psychology of impotence is more or less about viewing your new life - with sexual function - as a new beginning, complete with all the new emotions that may be experienced and there is no use to retrieve ‘life’ the way the way it was prior to impotence, regardless of whether that was only months ago or many years ago. No body can stop the march of time as it moves on, and trying to live out life the way it used to be is a sure-fire bet for failure.

Your sex life decides your zeal of living and if you are ignoring your sexual desires and problems then very soon you will also loose interest in living also. If you are facing problems in your sex life and you believe that everything will go smoothly after some time then you are not only ignoring minor problems but also inviting more complicated problems like sexual disability. Drugs for high blood pressure and antidepressants can also cause impotence.
Cialis is approved for the treatment of men who experience difficulty having and maintaining an erection (impotence). Cialis works by enhancing the effects of one of the chemicals the body normally releases into the penis during sexual currently approved products for erectile dysfunction? It is different from other currently approved products for ED in that it stays in the body longer. However, there were no studies that directly compared the clinical efficacy and safety of Cialis to other products but millions of people are recommending it as the best treatment for impotency.

Remaining 25 percent can be psychological that includes mood, desire and environment and stress that can reflect in getting erection.

A woman's sex drive starts to drop once she is in a secure relationship, according to researchers from Hamburg-Eppendorf University in Germany.

A study found that four years into a relationship, less than half of 30-year-old women wanted regular sexual intercourse but conversely, the research team found a man's libido stayed the same no matter how long he had been in a relationship.

In the journal Human Nature, the scientists suggested that the differences came about because of how human beings had evolved.

The researchers interviewed 530 men and women about their relationships and discovered 60% of 30-year-old women wanted sex "often" at the start of a relationship, but within four years this figure dropped to under 50%, and after 20 years it had fallen to about 20%.

But they found the proportion of men who wanted regular sex remained at between 60-80%.

The study also showed that tenderness was important for women and about 90% of women wanted this, regardless of how long they had been in a relationship. However, only 25% of men who had been in a relationship for 10 years said they were still looking for tenderness from their partner.

Studies have found that body language makes up 55 percent of the force of any given response, "paralanguage," which includes sighs, pauses and intonation, accounts for 38 percent, and verbal communication provides a mere 7 percent of the response's emphasis.

Positive Body Language•	Strong, firm handshake: Confidence, security
• Leaning forward, eye contact, hand gestures: Sincerity, confidence, interest
• Natural tone, volume, pitch and pace of voice: Secure, confidence
• Eye contact: Openness and honesty
• Altering facial expressions to match what is said (smiling when being friendly, etc.): Secure self-esteem
• Feet on desk, hands behind head: Confident, dominant or superior
• Relaxed upright posture, arms swinging naturally while walking: Confident
• Nodding: Approval

• Leaning in too close: Could be threatening
• Weak, soft voice: Nervousness
• Clearing throat, saying "um, uh," using overly complex sentences: Insecurity, nervousness
• Dropping head and looking down: Untrustworthy
• Staring at other person during silences: Increases tension
• Maintaining eye contact too long (over 7-10 seconds): May cause anxiety or discomfort
• Rigid, stooped posture, feet shuffling: Lack of confidence
• Folded arms, crossed legs, picking lint off clothing: Disinterested, disagreement
• Twiddling thumbs, drumming fingers: Not paying attention, anxiety

You don't need a lie detector test to find out if someone's lying to you --just check out these seven signs of lying.

1. No eye contact - Generally, if someone is lying they will not look you in the eye, at least during a certain part of the conversation. Normally, people make eye contact for at least half of a conversation, so anything less than this could be suspicious. One caveat: there are some people who will take great pains to make eye contact with you even if they're lying, simply to make you think they're not.

2. Change in voice - A change in the pitch of a person's tone, or a lot of stammering (umm, ah), or throat clearing could indicate a lie.

3. Unusual body language - If a person taps their foot a lot, fidgets with their hands, raises their shoulders, turns away from you or brings their hand to their face (to touch their chin or nose, etc.) -- in other words, if they act nervous or uncomfortable -- it could mean they're telling a lie. Also watch out for blushing (or becoming pale) and increased blinking.

4. Something sounds fishy - Making statements that contradict each other, are inconsistent or don't sound quite right are usually part of a lie.

5. Overly defensive - Sometimes when a person is lying they will become extremely defensive, refusing to answer any questions and even accusing you of lying. This may mean they have something to hide.

6. Changes subject easily - If someone is lying and you change the subject, chances are high that they'll go right along with it. A person telling the truth, however, will likely ask why you changed the subject and want to go back to it.

7. Humor or sarcasm - A guilty person will often try to change the subject using humor or sarcasm.

One or more of the following reasons usually account for why a man sleeps after Sex:

• They are tired to begin with, and sex helps them relax and let go -- figuratively and literally.

• The hormones men and women produce at orgasm can lead to the desire to lay back in the afterglow, and that sense of physical peace often leads to sleep.

• The ejaculatory release for men, and the inherent letting down of bodily tension, makes men physically tired.

• Most people (again, men and women) hold their breath during sex, breathe shallowly or don't focus on breathing. I'll bet the ranch that he's not breathing deeply. That gives him oxygen deprivation, which causes sleepiness. And, it could (rare, though) persist into the next day.

1. If it has been a month or perhaps for some a decade or more since you told your spouse why you love them, surprise them with a compliment! Simple but very powerful!

2. Leave a little love note in your loved one's briefcase, purse or lunch.

3. Guys, put the toilet seat down.

4. Give your spouse a 15-minute scalp massage.

5. Offer to do a chore that he or she normally does.

6. Blow your loved one a kiss, or give him or her a wink, as you're walking out the door.

7. Say "I love you" when they LEAST expect it.

8. Request a special song for him or her on the radio.

9. Plan an evening out for just the two of you.

10. Change the toilet paper roll when it's empty.

11. If your Saturday nights have been involving sweat suits and pizza for too long, surprise him or her by taking the time to get dressed up.

12. Preserve some mystery and romance in your relationship by closing the bathroom door when appropriate.

13. Offer to warm up your partner's car when it's cold outside.
14. Treat your loved one to a professional massage.

15. Bring home some coffee and a fresh fruit plate (or whatever breakfast treats you enjoy) one morning while your partner is still sleeping.

16. Acknowledge the things your partner does for you.

17. Pick up your loved one's favorite snack food the next time you're at the grocery store.

18. Take the kids to a movie so your spouse can relax in the tub/go to a yoga class/watch a football game.

19. Create a new tradition together. This can be something as simple as taking a walk together to get coffee on Saturday mornings, ordering Thai food on Sunday nights, or taking the dog for a walk together after work.

20. Turn off the TV for a night and ask your partner about his or her day/dreams/concerns.

21. Write a list of what you love about your partner and tape it to the bathroom mirror before you leave for work.

22. If you know that something you do bothers your spouse, don't do it. For instance, if leaving your dirty clothes next to the hamper (instead of in it) annoys your mate, make an effort to put your clothes inside.

23. Stop at the video store on your way home one night and surprise your loved one with a movie that he or she has been wanting to see (even if you'd really rather not).

24. Clear the clutter out of your bedroom, garage, basement or kitchen counter -- without expecting anything in return.

25. Do something out of the ordinary. This can be something simple, like getting home early from work to have dinner together or getting up early with your mate (even when you don't have to), but it can a have big effect on your relationship.
